What information are you collecting and how are you collecting it?

Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of number that serve as that computer's "Internet Protocol" IP address. When a visitor requests a page from within the John's ESL Community, our server automatically recognizes that visitor's domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our site. We use this information to examine our traffic in aggregate, but do not collect and evaluate this information for individuals. Our web server does not record e-mail addresses of visitors to our site, now does it collect information from any individual computer.

What information do you collect when I register for something?

John's ESL Community offers access to some services that are free but that require registration. We may use your contact information to send notification of site updates and services by e-mail. These site updates do not contain advertising and are sent only when the updates directly affect your account. For example; if you are a registered member of John's ESL Community E-Cards, you will receive updates if new cards are added to the e-cards system on our site. You may opt-out of these site updates by canceling your account. If you choose to cancel your account, the rest of John's ESL Community will be available to you; however, you will no longer be able to access the member's area of the portion you have opted out of by canceling your membership.

What other information do you request?

We may also request your e-mail address or mailing address for the purposes of conducting surveys or to provide additional services (for example, subscriptions to e-mail newsletters, announcement lists or information about seminars). We maintain a strict "No-Spam" policy that means that we do not intend to sell, rent, or otherwise give your e-mail address to a third-party.

What information do you collect when I purchase something?

John's ESL Community uses third party payment processors and therefore does not collect information regarding your credit card when you make a purchase. However, the payment processing company will ask for information regarding your credit card number, address, phone number and any other information deem necessary to complete a purchase. Only information required for the delivery or shipment of purchased products is passed on to John's ESL Community.

If I email you, will you keep my email address and send me spam?

If you contact John's ESL Community, we may keep a record of that correspondence. We do not, however, collect any email addresses of those who communicate with us via email. We use the information provided so that we may respond to the email and resolve any issue that may have arisen from the use of our website. Once the issue is resolved, we will not contact you again unless you first contact us again.

Can people other than me access my account?

The systems on the site of John's ESL Community allow administrators to access your account. Such access will only occur if we suspect that your account has been used for purposes that violate our Terms of Service. In addition, cookies help us efficiently determine that only one user is logged on under the same member name at a time. To prevent unauthorized use of your account, out TOS prohibits you from giving your account information to any third party.
