River otters have long, tapering tails and webbed feet. River otters spend most of their time in the water but can also travel on land. They are very playful. They like to spend their days chasing each other, wrestling, and sliding down riverbanks. River otters feed on small fish, frogs, and small mammals.
The two creatures shown here are called raccoons. Raccoons are small animals, usually weighing between 10 to 15 pounds. They are sometimes called bandits because the black fur around their eyes makes it appear as though they are wearing masks. They are also called bandits because they often get food by stealing from trash cans located in picnic areas in the park
Pictured here, the red fox lives along woodland edges where it hunts for mice, rabbits, and squirrels. Including its tail, an adult fox will grow to be about 3 and a half feet long and weigh about 15 pounds.
The red wolf usually hunts in packs and feeds on animals as small as rabbits and as large as the black bear. The red wolf is a natural enemy to many farmers and ranchers because they will sometimes kill sheep and cattle in order to survive when other game is not readily available. As a result the wolf was hunted so much in the past that it almost became extinct.
