Shopping for New Clothes

Salesclerk: May I help you?

Customer: Yes, spring is just around the corner and I need some new spring clothes.

Salesclerk: Of course, let me show you our new line of skirts and blouses.

Customer: Great!

Salesclerk: We just got these skirts in last week. As you can see, they come in a variety of colors and prints.

Customer: Yes, I see that. I like that one.

Salesclerk: Which one? The yellow one?

Customer: No, that one. The white one with the daisy print.

Salesclerk: Yes, that is a very pretty skirt. Let me see… You’re about a size 6, right?

Customer: (laughs) I wish. No, I’m a size 8.

Salesclerk: I see. Okay, here’s one in a size 8. Is the length alright?

Customer: Yes, I think so. Do you have a blouse in the same pattern?

Salesclerk: Of course. Here you go. Would you like to try these on before you decide?

Customer: Yes, please. Where are the fitting rooms?

Salesclerk: Right this way. (After a few minutes the customer comes out of the fitting room)

Salesclerk: So how do they fit?

Customer: The blouse looks great but the skirt is a little big. Can I try a smaller size?

Salesclerk: Of course. I’ll get one for you. – Here you are. Does that one fit better?

Customer: Yes, thank you. I’ll take these.

Salesclerk: Will you need anything else today?

Customer: No, that will be all for now. How much does that come to?

Salesclerk: Let’s see. The skirt is $99.95 and the blouse is $59.95 for a total of $159.90, plus tax. That’ll be $169.49. (One hundred sixty nine dollars and forty-nine cents), please. Will that be cash or credit card?

Customer: Cash. Here you go. I believe that is exact change.

Salesclerk: Yes, thank you.

Customer: Thank you for your help.

Salesclerk: Thank you. Have a nice day.
